Why the Albufera is special at sunset
The Albufera is a huge, almost perfectly flat freshwater lake, so it acts like a mirror when the sun drops. Out in the middle, the water is all around you and the sky is reflected at your feet.
We time the trip to reach the heart of the lake before the show begins. Birds fly back to their roosts, the reeds turn to silhouettes and, in the last light, the lake goes very quiet.

From our pier in El Palmar (Carrer del Santíssim Crist de la Salut, 27, El Palmar), 15–20 minutes by car from Valencia. There is free parking next to the pier.
